11th January 2005, Internet DNS Problems - stopping access to our system.
As of 6th of January we have relocated our main universe, world and bot servers to a new location. This involved changing Internet DNS and IP addresses for the new provider.
At the same time we had a new router that turned out to be faulty and started dropping packets and blocking valid packets claiming they were a security risk. The router was replaced on the 9th January but today, 11th January we have a DNS issue with the host name in the browser as it is not resolving to a valid ip address.
If you know how to open the aworld.ini file in the place you installed SpiralMatrix, usually c:\program files\spiralmatrix\build550\aworld.ini you can edit the following using notepad.
[universe]
host=dge550t.spiralmatrix.co.uk
port=443
Change to:
[universe]
host=dge550t.spiralmatrix.net
port=443
If you do not wish to do this, you can simply download the browser again as we have updated all the installers with the new change. This setting will not change back so there is no need to worry about it happening again.
